Big changes for RCSD
After more than two decades of service, Maria Díaz-Slocum retired from her career as an RCSD Board of Trustees member this week. On Wednesday, the district and fellow trustees honored their colleague with gifts and well wishes. Díaz-Slocum was first elected to the board in 2001. She has spent her time working with various organizations, including CARON, Frontiers in Leadership, REFORMA, Bibliotecas Para La Gente and the American Library Association, according to the district.
With an outgoing and an incoming trustee comes the reorganization of the school board as follows:
Board President: Cecilia I. Márquez
Vice President: Janet Lawson
Clerk: Mike Wells
Rep to SMC Committee on School District Organization: Alisa MacAvoy
Liason to California School Board Association and the San Mateo County School Board Association: David Weekly
